Terms of Service
Terms governing use of Sonra's website and mobile diagnostic ultrasound services in New York.
1. Agreement to these Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Sonra website and your request for, scheduling of, or receipt of mobile diagnostic ultrasound services offered by Sonra ("Sonra," "we," "us," or "our").
By accessing our website, submitting a booking or contact request, or using our services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use our website or services.
If you use our services on behalf of a patient or organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that patient or organization and to provide information about them.
2. About our services
Sonra provides mobile diagnostic ultrasound services performed by qualified sonographers, with imaging interpreted and reported by qualified clinical professionals, subject to availability and clinical appropriateness.
Sonra is an out-of-network provider. We do not bill insurance on your behalf and do not guarantee insurance reimbursement. Pricing is communicated before a booking is finalized.
Services are currently offered in New York, including Manhattan and the immediately surrounding area, subject to operational coverage and confirmation at the time of booking.
3. Not for emergencies
Sonra is not an emergency medical service. Our website, phone line, and ultrasound services are not a substitute for emergency care.
If you believe you or someone else is experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 (or your local emergency number) immediately or go to the nearest emergency department.
Do not use our booking form or non-emergency contact channels for life-threatening conditions.
4. No medical advice; no doctor-patient relationship from the website alone
Information on our website is provided for general informational purposes only. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Submitting a booking request, contact form, or phone inquiry does not by itself create a doctor-patient or provider-patient relationship. A care relationship arises only when Sonra accepts and provides services in accordance with applicable professional and legal standards.
Always seek the advice of a qualified healthcare provider with questions about a medical condition. Do not disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you read on our website.
5. Booking, scheduling, and service requests
Online booking and contact submissions are requests for service, not guaranteed appointments. Sonra will confirm availability, service area, clinical appropriateness, timing, and pricing before a scan is finalized.
You agree to provide accurate, complete, and current information. Inaccurate information may delay, limit, or prevent us from providing services.
We may decline or reschedule a request for clinical, safety, operational, geographic, staffing, or other legitimate reasons.
Arrival windows, travel times, and same-day availability are estimates and not guarantees unless expressly confirmed in writing by Sonra.
6. Fees and payment
Fees are quoted based on scan type, urgency, travel, and other relevant factors. The final quote is confirmed before you are committed to a scheduled service.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment is due as communicated at confirmation. Failure to pay may result in cancellation or withholding of reports, subject to applicable law and clinical obligations.
You are responsible for any third-party costs, including facility access fees, parking, or charges imposed by a building or employer, unless otherwise agreed.
7. Cancellation, rescheduling, and no-shows
If you need to cancel or reschedule, contact us as soon as possible. Late cancellations, reschedules, or missed appointments may be subject to fees reflecting reserved time, travel, and staffing costs, as communicated at booking or in a separate cancellation policy provided at confirmation.
We may cancel or reschedule due to weather, safety concerns, equipment issues, staffing, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control. In such cases we will work with you to reschedule when possible.
8. Patient responsibilities
When receiving services, you agree to:
- Provide a safe, reasonably accessible location for the sonographer to perform the scan.
- Follow preparation instructions we provide, when applicable.
- Disclose relevant medical history, allergies, implants, pregnancy status, and other information needed for safe imaging.
- Treat Sonra personnel respectfully and comply with reasonable safety instructions.
- Ensure an authorized adult is present when required for minors or dependent patients.
9. Reports and clinical use
Ultrasound reports are provided for diagnostic purposes as ordered or clinically indicated. Interpretation is based on the images obtained and information available at the time of the study.
You are responsible for sharing results with your treating clinicians and for follow-up care. Sonra does not manage ongoing treatment through the website.
If you designate a referring physician, you authorize us to deliver reports to that provider using contact information you supply.
10. Website use and acceptable conduct
You may use our website only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
- Use the website in any way that violates applicable law or regulation.
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, data, or networks.
- Interfere with the operation or security of the website.
- Scrape, copy, or misuse website content except as permitted by law.
- Use the website to transmit malware, spam, or harmful code.
11. Intellectual property
The website and its content — including text, graphics, logos, design, and software — are owned by Sonra or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.
You may view and use the website for personal, non-commercial purposes related to requesting or receiving Sonra services. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works without our prior written consent.
12. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the website and any information on it are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
Nothing in these Terms limits any non-waivable patient rights or warranties that cannot be disclaimed under New York law or applicable healthcare regulations.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Sonra and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the website or services, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Sonra's total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the website or these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid Sonra for the specific service giving rise to the claim during the twelve (12) months before the claim arose, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars (US $100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
These limitations do not apply to liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including where prohibited for professional negligence or personal injury caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct.
14. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Sonra and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the website; (b) information you provide; (c) your breach of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any law or the rights of a third party, except to the extent caused by Sonra's gross negligence or willful misconduct.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where federal law applies.
Except where prohibited by law, you agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the website that is not subject to mandatory arbitration or small-claims jurisdiction shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us and attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute informally.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time by posting an updated version on this page. The effective date at the bottom indicates when the Terms were last revised. Material changes will be posted here. Continued use of the website after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms, subject to applicable law.
17. Severability and entire agreement
If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any written service confirmation or policies provided at booking, constitute the entire agreement between you and Sonra regarding use of the website, except for separate written agreements for clinical services where applicable.
